Dr. Mai Xuan Ly (Li Mai Suan) is a Vietnamese scientist specializing in theoretical and statistical physics, with a long-standing research career at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is recognized by the international scientific community for his contributions to the study of phase transitions, complex systems, and interdisciplinary problems related to molecular biology—particularly protein folding mechanisms and neurodegenerative diseases. In recognition of his outstanding research achievements, he was awarded the title of Professor by the President of Poland, becoming one of the few scientists of Vietnamese origin to receive this honor. Beyond his academic work, he actively supports the training of young researchers and fosters scientific collaboration between Vietnam and the international community, thereby helping to elevate the global standing of the Vietnamese scientific community.
